The Water Quality Team recognizes that water resources are critical to the development and sustainability of human society. As human populations grow and have greater impact on water resources, decisions about resource management become more complex.

Today's water resource managers must be proactive, focusing decision-making at the ecosystem level and the landscape scale. Successful water resource managers are skilled professionals with the depth of knowledge in their technical field to address specific questions and the breadth of informed responsibility to make and to defend their decisions. Through a Team-based approach to education, the Water Quality Team strives to equip its members with the skills to become successful water resources managers.
